Fendi was founded in Rome by Adele and Edoardo Fendi in 1925.

The success of the brand was due to the energy and creativity, taste and flamboyant style of the 5 fendi sisters: Paola, Anna, Franca, Carla and Alda.

In 1987 the company opens a new line, for youngsters, called “Fendissime” managed by the next generation of Fendi women: Maria Teresa, Maria Silvia, Maria Ilaria. The line will be closed in 2001 (what about a come back?).

In 1994 Maria Silvia Venturini Fendi, brand Accessories Director, launches the uber luxurious Selleria bags collection and in 1997 the blockbuster bag, the Baguette.

Maria Silvia, a very cultivated and discreet woman, is not only an impressive creative director but she is also one of the greatest talent scouts.

Designers such as Maria Grazia Chiuri, Pierpaolo Piccioli, Frida Giannini, Alessandro Michele, Gianbattista Valli, Marco De Vincenzo worked with her.

And now, Maria Silvia’s daughters Delfina Delettrez Fendi and Leonetta Luciano Fendi are developing their own fashion dreams.

The first one with her eponymous jewelry brand and the latter mixing her passion for human rights and contents creation like the Instagram account “F is fr Fendi”.

Fendi is clearly a place were woman are very welcomed and celebrated.
