Christian Louboutin is the founder of the eponymous fashion brand that represents one of the shoes specialist phenomenon of the past 20 years.
Healthy company, privately-owned, with a very streamlined organization and a very dynamic designer at the helm.
They developed a wise retail network, an interesting Brand stretching into beauty and they are one of the only two Brands (along with Hermès) to have the daily queue of customers willing to buy their products at their Paris Faubourg Saint-Honoré flagship.
Christian Louboutin is one of the few living legendary shoes designers that have not only created an amazing Brand and a constantly growing business but that also contributed to empowering women through their own collections. The other ones are Manolo Blahnik and (the real) Sergio Rossi.
A few days ago during an event in Miami (http://pagesix.com/2017/05/31/what-inspires-christian-louboutin/) Louboutin said that when he sees a red carpet, it’s just a red carpet. He cannot cannot get inspiration from that as he doesn’t think that red carpet is a great exposure of anyone.
He rather gets inspiration from movies, from emotions.
Very likely the customers feel the same. Red carpets and product placement are a very old-style way of promoting a Brand. They are so far from the reality as well as far from the real dream.
Louboutin dressed with his amazing creations the most beautiful Hollywood actresses in the world, but always spoke directly to his real women.
“I like my customer to be fierce”, he used to say. Any customer, any woman.
