Despite the fact that women are a key target in fashion and luxury, there are not so many women CEOs case histories.

Francesca Bellettini is a flagship CEO of Kering and one of the most inspiring women in fashion.

She started in investment banking and consulting. She joined Prada Group invited by Patrizio Bertelli.

Then she landed a dream job Gucci under Mark Lee leadership in charge of strategic planning and merchandising. And she moved to Bottega Veneta in a similar role.

She has a merchandising mindset and she learned how to get along with creative directors as tough as Tomas Maier.

Her backstage role was ended when Kering offered her the direction of Saint Laurent in 2013 under Hedi Slimane tenure.

She believes in a respectful exchange between Creative Director and CEO and in the power of creativity. She is the architect of the company, and she set up a new organization in a French Maison despite an obvious internal resistance.

Francesca grew YSL turnover from 974 M euro in 2015 to 1,5B in 2017 with an EBIT of 25%.

She drove a soft transition from Slimane to Vaccarello and she continued to develop the brand through a powerful merchandising and branding vision.

Will she be back sooner or later at Gucci?
